There are also buttons for changing keyboard type, Bluetooth keyboard setup and modifier key. Turn on your Mac. Do you have a mute key on your keyboard that you can press to toggle mute, or can you manually unmute it in settings? weblink I tried resetting my computer. When the volume keys don't respond (happens pretty often and I haven't figured out why) I simply put the computer in sleep mode then re-awaken it. Takes a few seconds but it works every time.
