I am thinking possibly the email envelope seems to work on a user by user basis. I've been trying to figure out why the taskbar icon wasn't changing. If you have a link or something I'd be curious to see. When someone gets back from lunch break, if they see a RED New Mail Icon, they know they need to check their mail immediately.

If outlook is open, doesn't it have a user configurable time on how often to check all the accounts? Win7 Ultimate 64 bit with Exchange 2007 I added the icon to the taskbar manually, since it did not add itself automatically upon installation.

Office 2010 rtm is available since april 24 on technet ;) I have the same issue with my imap account with rtm version. In Outlook 2007 these 2 data filesappear to belinked and placed deep within the AppData folder that is hidden. The folders you setup along with rules to have like you say facebook emails going to the facebook folder will not show desktop/email alerts as it only works for email hitting
