  • The box didn't have a number in the format Virgin said was correct but eventually via some menus on the box got them the required number.
  • The box has two slots so I tried it in both, not sure if it makes a difference.
  • The auction has ended, but the reserve price was not met.

I don't believe that my problem is the same as the general one which the engineers are (presumably) fixing, as my TIVO is working. Ensure the smart card is inserted correctly. Ensure the power socket on the wall you have the set top box connected to is switched on and working properly. which we did (although surprised at the change)..
